Today, the State Corporation Commission granted Dominion Energy permission to build a new methane gas-fired power plant in Chesterfield County - the first of as many as eight new gas plants Dominion included in its most recent plan. Chesterfield Residents Appeal Dismissal, Demand Zoning Review for Dominion Gas Plant
Three Chesterfield County residents are asking the Virginia Court of Appeals to overturn a ruling that blocked their effort to require Dominion to apply for a conditional use permit from the County Board of Supervisors before constructing a new, 1000-megawatt methane gas plant, which Dominion calls the Chesterfield Energy Reliability Center.
