Today, the State Corporation Commission granted Dominion Energy permission to build a new methane gas-fired power plant in Chesterfield County - the first of as many as eight new gas plants Dominion included in its most recent plan. Glen Besa, Board Chair of Friends of Chesterfield, issued a statement.

Three Chesterfield County residents are asking the Virginia Court of Appeals to overturn a ruling that blocked their effort to require Dominion to apply for a conditional use permit from the County Board of Supervisors before constructing a new, 1000-megawatt methane gas plant, which Dominion calls the Chesterfield Energy Reliability Center.
